I was alone on Feb 14th... Let alone boyfriend, I didn't even have my crowns yet, so my bare tooth stumps were aching and cold. I've got to tell you, it's pretty shitty to be alone on St. Valentine day and it's much worse to be alone on the streets in Russia.

And then I saw a couple.. Two alcoholics, degraded and worthless were trying to get warmer by the subway. I squeezed out my American smile, gave them 50 rubles (~$2) and asked to smile. The women, in her alcoholic maelstrom of happiness and unexpected luck, cheerfully and quickly hid the money, and announced that she'd do anything for 50 rubles.

I still don't think she smiles on this photo.

I really like this. Shows a lot of feeling. Plus this is the kind photo I love but don't have the guts to go up and ask for a smile.
