1800 sq ft of light and space.
50 yards from Skid Row and police station.
Rat infested basement and bums camping right outside.
Resonant stairwells and the freight elevator.
Omnipresent smell of urine and no ac.
Most stunning rooftop view.
Loud fridge and gun shots at night.
Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. John Howard Payne
i truly can't stand the city... but whatever floats someones boat i guess.
the urine line reminds me of how after 1 week of being in a country (nicaragua? i can't remember), i realized that half the 'puddles' i was walking through in the cities were piss puddles. Sandles too. Yeah, I'm thick.
8 weeks later went back into costa rica (been there a month before going to nica) i noticed the same thing going on in the cities there, just not as bad. I wonder how many puddles i fred astaired through.
wow, your comment with this pic sounds just like those american cop movies we see here but those of the 50th. makes me even more wanting make the big jump over the ocean one day.
really? is this your place?
well if the place on the inside is really the way you want it and you have such a killer view, i'm sure you can live with all the rest.
I really dig the way you described the place, i would love it there
I like the way the night falls over the city, the composition of the shot
i just love the atmosphere that is hanging there, the shot and your words make me almost feel and taste the atmosphere
lovely

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
