Selfportrait: Look within by myownself Selfportrait: Look within by myownself
“Look within. Within is the fountain of good, and it will ever bubble up, if thou wilt ever dig.”

Marcus Aurelius

PS. Shooting blindfolded and stranded is somewhat of a challenge. I probably need to invest in a remote shutter release. Meanwhile it's a gruelling race between me and my 5-seconds delay self-timer:)

i hate my 5 sec timer, too  but your cam must be pretty good... the auto focus is excellent :O_o: i'm envious... i like how you placed yourself within the borders... oh and i like the borders themselves, too :) the dreads look good  first i had to get used to it but now i even think they're cool :P you have to tell me if you're heading for berlin again... :( i'm so sorry i wasn't able to be there when you were :tears: hm... paris or london would be ok, too ;)

god i love your work.
i love how you give your photos a rendered quality.
i've asked you about that before but could never get a response.
i know how busy you must be and all.
are those dreds by the way?
oops. another question. sorry.
excellant job.

Sorry if I didn't answer you before.. What rendered quality? Are you talking about texture? I use sharp at least 7-10 times, applying it stepwise starting from large radius. I first apply it to raw file and then keep sharping as I decrease the image size.

Dreads are....living their own life, I guess. Don't have much control over them:)

Thank you!

As usual, your style is very unique and outstanding. I like this works as I do like all he previous. I want to mention that I feel the strong impulse of mysticism here. When I was looking at this work I have recalled the Nitzzhe quote at once "When you are looking into the Abyss, the Abyys is looking inside you"

wow. you certainly are a master of lighting..... you might want to check out a long cable-release for self portrait work. the air pressure ones aren't too expensive. :+fav:

 I can imagine the agonizing stress. I hate my camera's selftimer so much, it is the main reason why I haven't spammed this place with my selfportraits. That and the fact that I'm ugly as dirt :buggered:

I love ALL your selfportraits though. Most fascinating images you come up with. I'm in awe :worship: Great concept in this one, but I'm not much of an analyzer. What makes it a fav for me is the great use of light.

lol .. 5 sec delay

... i did some shots with a slow flash cam (didn' know how to operate the 10 sec delay) that gave me about 1 sec to jump backwards into the desired position.. i actually got some good shots that way.

anyhoo... i think this one is one of your best as far as digitally drawing... any chance for a tutorial?

hmm... there is a small stripe at the upper right that looks a lil like a coffee mug stain

cheers
